BG Karlsruhe – Artland Dragons 79:80 (41:42)
With a Buzzer-Beater of Chad Prewitt from the range the Artland Dragons won after a very balanced match in Karlsruhe. Best player of the Dragons was again Adam Hess, who made 33 points (5 three-pointers).
Karlsruhe-Assistant Coach Pat Elzie: "We have lost, that’s though. We have started badly, Hess shot very well, 22 points in the first half are too much. In the second half we have played better. With the “box-in-1" we managed it to stop Hess. It’s difficult to win against such a top-team as the Dragons are.”
Artland-Coach Chris Fleming: "I’m very, very satisfied. We had a lot of injuries, Bailey was just able to work out from Thursday, Prewitt couldn’t the last three days. Today he felt better and hit that big shot in the end. I’m proud, that my team always kept fighting even if it has looked bad. There’s nothing more to say."
Karlsruhe: Jones 20, Fahrad 14, Ewodo 11, Hornig 10, Bond 10, Svitek 8, Cipriano 4, Mballa 2, McCray

EnBW Ludwigsburg – ratiopharm Ulm 85:78 (44:37)
Ludwigsburg-Coach Silvano Poropat: "It was a big night for the Basketball in Baden-Württemberg. Both teams have presented themselves really great. The bottom line is Ludwigsburg hit the important shots and that decided the game. I knew, that it would be close, because Ulm is totally underrated. The team has a lot of character."
Ulm-Coach Mike Taylor: "I just can congratulate our local rival to this fantastic start of the season. Despite the defeat, I’m very satisfied with my team. The hit rate was partly too bad caused because of the good Defense of Ludwigsburg. Our goal for this season is to stay in the first division."

Telekom Baskets Bonn – TBB Trier 76:64 (44:37)
Bonn-Coach Michael Koch: "I’m very satisfied with my team, because especially in the second half we have defended better. We have kept Trier away from the basket and rebounded well. The only thing I could find fault is, that we don’t manage it to wrap things up."
Trier-Coach Joe Whelton: "Bonn got too many rebounds today. In the phase, when we didn’t hit the shots, Tommy Adams was missing a lot. Bonn defended high class. Fortunately were early in this season and know on what we still have to work on.”
