Adriatic - Adriatic NLB League - 12th round
By Milan Lazarevic

Two overtimes marked this round and gave dramatic note to the whole story. So many teams are fighting for Top 3 ULEB Cup places and battle already has started. Zadar and Cibona continue their amazing run, while FMP Zeleznik and Bosna proved once again what potential they have.

FMP had +8 just 1.5 minutes till the end of regular time, but they gambled and almost lost everything against Olimpija after 2 overtimes. But, Ivica Jurkovic scored crucial triples and in combination with FMP’s missed free throws match was catapulted to overtimes. Olimpija had only 8 players on this match, they had +2, 11 seconds till the end of 1st overtime, +3, 3 minutes till the end of second overtime, but they didn’t have strength for 50 minutes and answer for fantastic Branko Cvetković.

Match in Podgorica between Buducnost and Zadar offered real drama. Zadar had solid advantage (+8 in the middle of 2nd quarter), but Buducnost was always founding solution to escape from dangerous zone. Carl English was unstoppable in Zadar and simply alone brought this super important win to Zadar, while Ivan Maraš, at the other side in Buducnost, missed triple in final seconds for a home win.

Bosna stunned Red Star in Sarajevo. Red Star came to Bosnia without Milan Gurovic who decided to play in this game besides controversial problems with tattoo on his hand, but suddenly he got ill and needed to stay at home. Several other players were also ill, but that can not be alibi for catastrophic defense during whole match.
Dženan Rahimić ruled on the court, while Edin Bavčić and Clarence Gilbert were scoring crucial triples always when it was needed.
Red Star totally disappointed and reduced own chances for one of Top 3 places.

Besides huge problems in squad and around it, Split had chance to surprise positively fans in match with helios, but Slovenian side proved once again that they are real hit of competition.
Helios is in fantastic form both in Adriatic and Slovenian league and this away win is everything but surprise.
This was 8th consecutive loss for Split. Skinn Marin Han scored in last seconds of regular time and catapulted Split to overtime, but that was practically all from them. They missed so many free throws when they simply desperately needed some and paid huge price. It is curiosity that Helios missed even more (19), but Split was not on needed level to use that fact.
