At the end of September, the Russian Superleague A club Arsenal Tula arranged a press conference, in which they announced about huge problems in the club. According to Andrey Fursov, the director of the club, the team is no more needed to the town. All the main local sponsors suddenly refused to continue financing Arsenal for different reasons this off-season, and, as a result, the club will probably not start the upcoming Superleague A season.
"We even had no pre-season training camps. This situation forced our governance leave the Superleague A. We don't know if the team will survive or not. There is a number of the players, who simply said - we either will play in Tula, or generally let us finish with the basketball. So we'll try to collect a team anyway, no matter with or without money" - said Andrey Fursov.
Anyway, it's still possible the team can come back to start the Superleague A season. Therefore, they need to find new sponsors till October 15, the opening day of the new season.
Arsenal finished 8th in the leageu last season.
