Bulgarian national basketball team was named "Team #1 of the year" and won the 1st place in a special poll in an internet news site for "Best bulgarian team of 2004". What is more at 2nt place is another basketball team - LukOil Academic. Bulgarian national football team stayed behind them both - at 3rd place.
This poll has joined the voice of every single bulgarian who is interested in sport.
National basketball team qualified for Euro 2005 after 12 years and LukOil Academic achieved a great wins over teams like Cantu, Dynamo Moscow and Reflex in ULEB cup.
On the other hand bulgarian national team played at Euro 2004 in Portugal, but nobody in the country want to remember what happened there...
One more thing: The coach of LukOil Academic - Konstantin Papazov was named 2nd best coach of the year at the same poll. First is legendary football player and coach of national football team now - Hristo Stoichkov.
